One of the leading musical genres of the 18th c. was the suite, which inspired some of the greatest works of composers for the harpsichord. dance OREMUS danse is honoured to present a solo recital, of suites, by this master of the German School.
Geveviève Soly is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Baroque musical society Les Idées heureuses Ensemble, based in Montréal. Her desire to share her passion for the harpsichord and for the entire repertoire of the 17th and 18th century music, along with her commitment to Baroque dance has led to a career that has been recognized in Canada and Europe. Her determination and artistic excellence were recently recognized, with a Prix Opus as Person of the Year in 1997. Ms. Soly records for Atma and Analekta.
P-J Dwyer also performs as guest artist to music by Gluck & Mozart on November 5, 2001 in Montreal, with Les Idées heureuses Ensemble, in a production entitled: "Marie-Antoinette, quand les reines étaient divas".
